A local source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): "The water storage in Lake Hamrin, northeast of Baquba, has reached 840 million cubic meters, compared to the previous storage before the rainfall, which was 640 million cubic meters, an increase of 200 million cubic meters."
The source added: "The water storage level is still below expectations," explaining: "The lake's storage capacity is 2.4 billion cubic meters and covers about 70 % of Diyala's geographical area, as it is considered a strategic water reserve for the governorate." /End
