Dell experts reviewed the role of technology in leading digital transformation, stressing that Iraq is making rapid strides in digital transformation.
Dell's regional Director in Iraq, Sami Samara, told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA), "We are contributing with public and private sector institutions to develop technology in Iraq, as well as helping develop plans and strategies for digital transformation and defensive plans against cybersecurity attacks."
He added, "Through cooperation with the public and private sectors, we will leverage extensive expertise gained from countries in the Americas, Europe, and Asia, sharing this expertise with the Iraqi market and developing it to achieve various successes in the technology and artificial intelligence sector. We also work with our local partners and with the public and private sectors, where we excel in designing and promoting competitive growth for institutions."
He continued, "There are specific requirements for the banking, business, communications, health, defense, and cybersecurity sectors. Each of these sectors has its own unique characteristics and requirements, and therefore we can identify the priorities and work systems in these sectors." He emphasized that "Iraq is making rapid strides, and there is significant development and significant support from the government through clear directives. Today, there is Iraqi expertise, a workforce, and a growing knowledge base for the younger generation in modern technology."
In turn, the Managing Director of Global Technology Company, Ziad Al-Ani, confirmed in an interview with the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA), that this event is a true result of joint work, not the beginning of a new venture.
He added, "The continued support of the Prime Minister and the government's focus on Iraq's technological and technical development has placed the Iraqi market at the forefront of international companies' interests, allowing them to prepare to operate in Iraq themselves rather than choosing agents and representatives."
He added, "The government's strategy for digital transformation and infrastructure to be a defining feature of the government's work conveys a true picture to decision-makers in international companies of Iraq's seriousness in building and developing this system."
He continued, "The greatest attention is focused on the government sector due to the urgent need, as Iraq has actually begun entering the field of digital technology since 2022-2023, and there is increasing demand in the local market to meet these needs." He pointed out that there are many mechanisms for digital transformation to place Iraq among the ranks of global countries.
He added, "After 2003, we now have a young generation aged 22-26 years old." Qualified to lead the digital transformation, this is evidence that Iraq possesses the human potential and economic strength of the state that makes the local market an effective market. /End
