Baghdad /NINA/ -The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement on Wednesday that Cairo has accepted US President Donald Trump's invitation to join the initiative known as the "Board of Peace".
The initiative primarily aims to end the conflict in Gaza, but Trump stated that it will contribute to resolving other conflicts worldwide.
The Foreign Ministry said in the statement, "The Arab Republic of Egypt welcomes the invitation extended by US President Donald Trump to President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to join the "Board of Peace", and announces its acceptance of the invitation to join the "Board of Peace", and will work to fulfill the relevant legal and constitutional procedures."
The statement affirmed Egypt's support for "the Board of Peace's mission within the framework of the second phase of the comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza, in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2803." /End
