Baquba / NINA / -A joint force has launched a security operation in areas northeast of Baquba, the capital of Diyala Governorate.
A security source told the Iraqi National News Agency (NINA) correspondent: "A joint security force, supported by the Popular Mobilization Forces, launched a raid and search operation in the western part of the Imam Wais basin, advancing from two axes towards specific targets, based on precise intelligence."
He explained: "The operation aims to secure the liberated villages and towns, including Al-Hafayer area and the nearby low-lying areas." He added: "During the operation, the force discovered a cache of explosives, which was removed and dealt with according to established procedures." /End
