Saad Maan: 3 drones and 1,198 rockets and bombs seized over the past month
In a statement, Maan emphasized the ongoing efforts and field measures taken by the Permanent National Committee for the Regulation of Weapons—tasked with restricting arms to state control under the Ministry of Interior—to regulate weapon ownership and enhance security and stability.
He explained: "Measures to restrict weapons during the month of October 2026 resulted in the registration of weapons belonging to 38,549 citizens, the seizure of 4,046 various light weapons, 15,001 rounds of ammunition (mostly for light weapons), 1,198 rockets and bombs, and the discovery of 373 highly explosive items."
He added: "These measures included the registration of weapons belonging to 2,374 individuals visiting state offices—mostly handguns—the retrieval of 237 weapons from civilian ministries (primarily rifles), and the seizure of 3 drones."
Lieutenant General Maan affirmed that these results are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the rule of law, regulate the possession of weapons, and consolidate community security, thereby contributing to the promotion of stability and the protection of citizens. / End
