Baghdad / NINA / - Head of the Victory Coalition (Nasr Coalition), Haider al-Abadi, met, on Thursday evening, with the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Dr. Faiq Zidan, to discuss the overall situation in the country across various sectors, as well as recent political, security, and economic developments.

A statement by Al-Abadi’s office noted that the meeting underscored the importance of consolidating stability, strengthening the rule of law, and respecting the state’s constitutional institutions.

Al-Abadi praised the significant role played by the judiciary in protecting the constitution and upholding the principles of justice and equality. He highlighted the importance and stature of the judiciary as a fundamental pillar in state-building and the protection of the democratic system.

Furthermore, Al-Abadi stressed the judiciary’s role in addressing practices aimed at harming others and damaging their reputations through the leveling of baseless accusations—made without evidence or legal documentation. He emphasized that the law and the judiciary must have the final word, that the dignity and rights of citizens must be safeguarded, and that unsubstantiated allegations must not be used as a tool for defamation or settling scores. /End
