Baghdad / NINA / - Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi and U.S. President Donald Trump have underscored the importance of coordination and consultation between the two nations regarding current challenges, working to support regional stability, and prioritizing dialogue and diplomacy in addressing crises.

A statement by the Prime Minister’s Media Office noted: "Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi held a phone call today, Thursday, with the President of the United States, Donald Trump. During the call, they discussed the latest developments in the region, security-related events, and the outlook for the coming period."

In the course of the conversation, Al-Zaidi and Trump highlighted the significance of coordination and consultation between the two countries in the face of current challenges, as well as the need to support regional stability and favor dialogue and diplomacy to resolve crises—thereby helping to contain tensions and prevent the conflict from spreading.

The Prime Minister reiterated Iraq’s position, which calls for respecting the sovereignty of nations, ensuring that Iraqi territory is not used as a launchpad for attacks against neighboring countries, and emphasizing the necessity of adopting peaceful solutions and constructive dialogue to preserve the security of the region and the stability of its peoples.

The two sides emphasized the importance of maintaining communication between the two countries and coordinating positions on issues of common interest, in a manner that strengthens bilateral relations and serves mutual interests. / End
