Al-Shimmari said in an interview with the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that "one of the most difficult files facing Al-Kadhimi government is the file of the corrupt and referring them to the courts," noting that "corruption is no longer corruption of people, but rather of political parties."
"We rarely find a political party that does not have an economic body," he said, noting that "Al-Kadhimi can move this file through a political agreement with all political forces."
Al-Shimmari continued, “What happened in 2014 was the fall of cities, the fall of governorates, the Speicher massacre, and the collapses in the Iraqi army’s ranks due to corruption, and this needs to be reviewed and a stand.” Pointing out, "We need to reassess that stage and hold those who are negligent responsible, whatever they are." / End
