Baghdad / NINA /- The second round of elections for the twelfth session of the Islamic Shura Council (Parliament) in the Islamic Republic of Iran has begun.

According to the "IRNA", the second round of elections for the 12th session of the Islamic Shura Council began at eight o'clock this morning, Friday, local time.

According to IRNA, 90 candidates will compete in the second round to elect 45 representatives in 15 governorates.

It added: "According to the announcement of the country's Election Commission, about 11,500 centers have been allocated for the second round of the parliamentary elections throughout the country, including 8 electoral districts: Tabriz, Tehran, Abadan, Shiraz, Kermanshah, Khorramabad, Qaimshahr and Malayer, in a fully electronic manner."

It is noteworthy that the first stage of the elections for the Islamic Shura Council took place on March 1 to elect 290 representatives, where 245 candidates were elected for membership in the Council, while the remaining candidates went to run in a second round to elect the remaining 45 seats./End
