Baghdad (NINA) - A Turkish delegation is scheduled to visit Baghdad and Erbil next week to discuss the issue of resuming the export of oil from the Kurdistan region. According to the advisor to the Iraqi Prime Minister, it is hoped that oil exports will be resumed through the Turkish port of Ceyhan by the end of this year.
Ibrahim Bahr al-Ulum, advisor to Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani, told the Kurdish media network Rudaw: “We hope to resume oil exports by the end of this year or the beginning of 2024.”
In his answer to a question from a Rudaw Media Network correspondent about a specific date for the resumption of the export process, Bahr al-Ulum confirmed that “there are efforts now that have reached the point of opening the contract.”
