During the meeting, according to the Foreign Ministry statement, the current situation in the Middle East region and its impact on Iraq and the entire world were discussed, where the Minister briefed the Irish delegation on the political situation in Iraq and its effective role in achieving economic integration and regional stability, as well as the challenges facing the region, especially the current situation in Syria, and the problem of Syrian refugees and the threat posed by ISIS terrorist gangs and their effects on national security in Iraq and on the countries of the world in general, pointing to developments in the situation in Iran and Turkey and their impact on Iraq and the repercussions of the Ukrainian crisis and the general rise in fuel prices and inflation rates in the world that followed.
For his part, the Irish Foreign Minister stressed his country's keenness to develop bilateral relations with the Republic of Iraq, expressing his happiness at the opening of an Iraqi Embassy in Dublin, praising Iraq's active role in achieving economic integration in the region and regional stability./End
