Hashimi's Office: Heshimi underwent medical checkup, he is not in need for being admitted to hospital

Baghdad (NINA) The temporary office of Vice President, Tariq al-Hashimi, in Kurdistan region announced, "Hashimi underwent routine medical checkup, the results are satisfactory and he is not in need to be admitted into hospital, as some media have reported."

In a statement to the press on Friday, May 11, the Vice President's Office added, "Hashim conducted contacts with a number of Iraqi leaders, as part of his pursuance to the country's current political situation."

At present, Hashimi is in Turkey, whose Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, announced that his country will not extradite Hashimi to Iraq, on the demand of the Interpol, who issued on Tuesday an arrest warrant, on the request of the Iraqi government.

Hashimi's trial in absentia was scheduled take place on Thursday, but was postponed, for the second time, until Tuesday.

In an earlier statement, Chief Justice Abdul Sattar al-Berqdar, said that Hashimi and a number of his guardsmen are charged on three counts related to, assassination of a senior officer at the Ministry of National Security, Interior Ministry's officer and a lawyer, they will all be dealt with in one trial. / End.
