MP: Iraqi army is able to control and bringing U.S. troops needs parliamentary approval

BAGHDAD / NINA / A member of the parliamentary committee on security and defense, MP, of the state of law coalition, Abbas al-Bayati confirmed that "The Iraqi army is able to control and protect the internal front and defend Iraq against any external aggressions."

He told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / "The army, which represents all Iraqi people components is able to enforce the rule of law and maintaining security and stability in all parts of Iraq," noting, "There is no intention to bring U.S. forces, which requires a new treaty, because the security agreement is expired."

Bayati added, "any leak on this topic is untrue and bringing U.S. forces requires parliamentary approval and any agreement without parliamentary approval will not success."
