Baghdad (NINA) – Military intelligence unit arrested on Saturday, Jan. 5, the nephew of Vice President of the former regime, Izzat al-Douri.
The semi official Iraqiya Channel said that a force from the military intelligence arrested Abdul Rahman Mohammed Ibrahim, the nephew of al-Douri, in Salaheddin province.
al-Douri, Vice President of former President, Saddam Hussein, has accused the Iraqi for the last 7 years the Iraqi government is carrying out a project of dividing Iraqi into 7 states.
In a televised speech on the Iraqi Army Day, al-Douri expressed support to protestors in Anbar and Niniveh.
He threatened to attack whoever supports, what he calls as the "Safavid Persian" project in Iraq, where he is a civilian or military. / End.
