Baghdad (NINA) - The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Iraq, Martin Kobler, condemned the blowing on Monday, Sep. 24, of an elementary school in Anbar province killing and wounding a number of children.
In a statement issued on Monday, Kobler said that what has happened today represents a kind of a terrifying violence committed against innocent people. Attack on against school is a mean crime. He added, "I felt deep sadness, especially when I learned that the victims were your children."
He added that, "Whether the school was intended or not, yet children must not pay for the acts of violence carried out by criminal, I reiterate my condemnation of this frightful attacl."
Earlier in the day, the Advisor of the Governor of Anbar, Mohammed Fat'hi, told NINA that four school children killed and eight others wounded when a suicide attacker blew his car bomb near an elementary school in Heet district.
He added that the number of casualties is expected to increase. / End.
