Baghdad (NINA) – Foreign Undersecretary, Labeed Abbawi, denied circulated reports that Baghdad seeks to sever its relations with Ankara.
The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) web site quoted Abbawi denying reports circulating in this regard and that such reports are baseless.
Some media outlets quoted an unknown source at the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, saying that Iraq is considering reviewing its relations with Turkey, especially Turkish business in Iraq, which are working for espionage and terrorist purposes.
The source pointed out that closing Turkish Consulate in Mosul and refusing to open new Turkish consulates in other parts of Iraq are moves in this direction; where 1200 Turkish firms are working in Iraq and 1020 are in Kurdistan region.
