Maliki: money owed to oil companies operating in Kurdistan will be paid after reviewing pertinent contracts by the Council of Ministers.

Baghdad / NINA /-- Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said: "The money owed to oil companies operating in Kurdistan will be paid after seeing the pertinent contracts by the Council of Ministers .

He said in a press conference today: "I asked the House of Representatives to speed up the legislation of the oil and gas law as such law will resolve all the problems with Kurdistan province and that may occur in other provinces as Nineveh , Basra, Maysan, and other provinces.

He stressed that the issue must be settled because the law is suggested since 2007 but not approved so far." / End
