Baghdad (NINA) – Speaker of Parliament, Usama al-Nijaifi, denounced attacks against Prophet Mohammed that contradict religious, human and divine values.
In a statement issued on Friday, Sep. 14, by the Speaker's Media Bureau, Nijaifi said the he strongly denounces and condemns all attacks and insults the Prophet Mohammed has been subjected that contradict religious and humanitarian values.
He also condemned attacks against American embassies and consulates, describing such attacks of contradicting our religious and ethical values that justify attacks against our religion.
Nijaifi called for self restrain and refrain from resorting to violence, because all divine religions reject violence and call for tolerance and peace. He stressed that progress cannot be achieved without cooperation and friendship based on mutual respect and between nations and refrain from violence and chaos. / End.
