New oil discovery in Kurdistan region

Erbil (NINA) – Norwegian oil company, DNO, announced a new oil discovery in Kurdistan region.

A statement issued on Wednesday, Sep. 12, by the Norwegian company, whose head office in Oslo, said that it has discovered oil, at the depth of 2000 meters, in Bakhmi area, in Kurdistan region; pointing out the more research has to be done to evaluate the discovery.

The Norwegian DNO Company is among the oil companies that concluded contracts with the government of Kurdistan region; on 24 of July the Company announced that it has reached a permanent agreement with the region's government concerning oil payments. / End.
