BREAKING NEWS Tarmiya Police Chief escapes assassination

Baghdad (NINA) – Commander of Tarmiya police, northern Baghdad, Brigadier Tawfiq Ahmed, escaped an assassination attempt when an improvised explosive device went off on Monday evening, Sep. 3.

Police source told NINA that an improvised explosive device emplaced on the side of the road in Tarmiya area, went off when Brigadier Tawifq Ahmed's motorcade was passing, to inspect checkpoints in the area.

The blast resulted in damaging one of the motorcade's vehicles without causing in casualties. / End.
