BAGHDAD / NINA / Turkish warplanes bombed several border areas in the Kurdistan region yesterday afternoon.
The website of Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) quoted an informed source as saying that "Turkish warplanes, on Tuesday afternoon, penetrated the Kurdistan skies and bombed Juakourk area of Sidakan in district of Soran in Erbil province," without giving details of the damage left by the bombing.
It is mentioned that the Turkish warplanes and artillery bomb the border areas with Iraq under as pretext of pursuing elements of PKK.
Eight people were killed and at least fifty others wounded in an attack by a car bomb on Monday evening in Gaziantep region southeast Turkey and local authorities accused the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) of being behind that attack. / End
