BREAKING NEWS Governor of Diyala, his wife killed in traffic accident

Baquba (NINA) – The governor of Diyala, Hesham al-Hayali, and his wife are killed in a traffic accident on Saturday evening, Aug. 18, when their car collided with a truck northeast of Baquba.

Spokesman for the Diyala Municipal Council, Jamal al-Ruba'e, told NINA that Hayali and his wife, former lawmaker Taiseer al-Mashhadani, died when their car collided with a large truck when on their way back from Sulaymaniya province.

He added that police closed all roads leading to the accident site, and the bodies are taken to nearby hospital. / End.
