Baghdad (NINA) – In his meeting with Indonesia's Ambassador to Iraq, Deputy Prime Minister, Hussein al-Shehristani, demanded Indonesia's interference to stop violence against Moslems in Burma.
In a statement to the press, Deputy Prime Minister's Media Bureau said that Sherhastani conveyed to the Indonesian Ambassador to Iraq, Savzin noridine, Iraq's concern over the violence Moslems in Burma are being subjected, demanding the Indonesian government to play a regional role through the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) toward putting an end to violence against them.
It added that the two discussed means to consolidate relations between the two countries.
For his part, Ambassador Savzin expressed his country's concern over this massacre; and pointed out that his country values the Deputy Prime Minister's recent visit to Indonesia considering it a highlight of the mutual relations. / End.
