Baghdad (NINA) – Leader of the National Alliance, Ibrahim al-Jafari, asserted, "National efforts are still being exerted toward bringing points of view together and solving outstanding problems between political adversaries.
During his meeting with the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Iraq, Mr. Martin Kobler, on Wednesday, Aug. 1, Jafari said, "Political sides seriously seek to make reforms and shake current crisis through direct dialogue."
Jafari's Media Bureau said that in the meeting discussion covered main issues in Iraq's political arena, including the formation of the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC).
Jafari stressed the necessity to speed up forming the IHEC to make it in agreement with Iraq's experiment and consolidate its democracy.
For his part, Kobler affirmed the UN continued support to whatever provide honorable life for Iraqi citizens and contribute toward developing Iraq's democratic experiment. / End.
