Baghdad (NINA) – Parliament's Secretary, Mohammed al-Khalidi, said that Speaker Usama al-Nijaifi will chair an important meeting on Sunday, July 29, with Parliament's Security and Defence Committee to discuss security breaches and the failure of security plans in Diyala province.
In a statement to the press on Saturday, July 28, Khalidi said that the meeting will discuss security breaches and continued failure of security plans, as well as random arrests in Diyala province. The meeting is to adopt measures and recommendations aiming to make responsible persons accountable and replace them.
Khalidi added that the meeting will be attended by lawmakers from Diyala province, to offer their views and reports they have obtained from the province's dignitaries.
He continued saying that the meeting will also discuss continued random arrests and means to put an end to them.
On the 25th of current month, police and military force carried out military operation in pursue of armed groups in Hadded area, which is surrounded by large areas of groves and agriculture lands. / End.
