Ramadi (NINA) – The Mayor of Qa'im district, western Anbar, Farhan Ftikhan, said that the number of Syrian refugees arrived so far in Qa'im has reached 2500.
Ftikhan said that the number of refugees arrived since Friday morning, July 27, until 7:00 pm same day is 91, most of them are women and children, making the total number of refugees arrived in town up to 2500 persons.
He added that refugees are free to move to Khamseh Kilo complex in Ramadi or stay in Qa'im.
Some families have relatives in Qa'im or tribal ties that make them guests on their relatives instead of putting them in schools or camps and government's buildings.
In a statement to the press arlier in the day, spokesman for the Anbar province, Mohammed Fat'hi, said that Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki instructed the Governor of Anbar, Qasim Mohammed, to move refugees from Qa'im district into government residential complex in Ramadi.
But later today, lawmaker from Iraqiya slate, Mohammed al-Karbouli, said that he met at noon today with Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, during which a decision made allowing Syrian refugees to move freely within Iraq, outside designated camps, on condition that they have a local guarantor.
Karbouli added that the decision include granting entry visa to each refugee having a passport. / End.
