BAGHDAD / NINA / Safiya al-Suhail, of the parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee, expressed her and the committee concerns of the situation she described, as tragic experienced by the Iraqi community in Syria.
She called in a press release today, the State Department, as the executive responsible for following -up the Iraqi community there, to coordinate with the Ministry of Transport, to take measures to facilitate the transfer of all Iraqis wishing to return to Baghdad and operate a larger number of flights to get them back as soon as possible.
She added "the Iraqis are living in difficult, psychological and security, situations with the escalation of violence and the security situation, which are extremely serious in Syria, because there is doubling targeted for Iraqis for many reasons, including, unfortunately, the positions of some politicians who were not neutral, towards the Syrian crisis, and our people living in Syria paid for that."
She continued: "We have information pointing that some Iraqis have arrived to camps on the Syrian-Turkish borders to escape the violence" called for "following up and providing their needs and coordinating with those who wish to return voluntarily to Iraq.
She also called on Iraq to prepare for receiving the Syrian families fleeing the violence, by securing camps for them and their families. / End
