BAGHDAD / NINA / MP, Salman al-Moussawi, of the state of law coalition called for forming a parliamentary committee to follow up the conditions of Iraqis in Syria, and to start its work since the first moment of its formation.
He said in a press release today 20, July " the sufferings of our citizens in Syria require a serious stand by the Parliament to strengthen the position of the Council of Ministers, represented by sending a parliamentary committee to investigate the conditions of the Iraqis there, and give them full support."
He added: "although the situation in Syria has become a bit quiet, but that does not make us satisfied with the situation of the Iraqi community, especially there are more than a million and a half million Iraqis residing there and they are exposed to attacks daily."
Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki called on the UN to intervene to protect Iraqis in Syria and to facilitate their return to Iraq, welcoming the return of Iraqis to their country, promising to forgive those who have negative attitudes.
The government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said earlier that, the government has provided four planes to transport Iraqis living in Syria to Iraq.
A source at the Ministry of Transport said that the Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki devoted his private jet to transport Iraqis from Syria. / End
