BAGHDAD / NINA / Iraq's ambassador to the Vatican, Habib al-Sadr said that the Pope of the Vatican wants to visit Iraq, but looking for the right time.
He said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /: "The Pope of the Vatican is very interested in visiting Iraq " noting that " this visit will emphasize cohesion of all Iraqi sects, and that Iraq is not sense from any religious party."
Habib al-Sadr had previously announced the formation of a committee between the Vatican and the Shiite and Sunni Waqfs (Endowments).
He said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /: After unremitting efforts we came up with the Holy See to form a higher committee for dialogue between Iraq and the Vatican, and we are currently in naming the characters that will be involved in this committee. "
He added: "The committee will hold regular meetings between the heavenly religions, as we are looking towards this committee in purifying the atmosphere and access to participants, which we will go through to enhance ties between the two parties." / End
