Arbil / NINA / An informed source in the Kurdistan region earlier declared, that U.S. oil Chevron Company joined to explore oil in Kurdistan.
The source said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / today that this matter was made without the agreement of the federal government.
It is mentioned that Chevron which their headquarters in San Ramon, California, operates in more than 180 countries.
It is said that U.S Exxon Mobil oil Company is currently working in the province of Kurdistan, also without a license from the Iraqi government which threatened to prevent it from participating in oil and gas licensing rounds.
But the U.S. Company does not respond to this threat, which made Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to address the U.S. President Barack Obama to intervene and bring the company to cancel its contracts with the Kurdistan region.
There was no decision from the U.S. administration so far to respond to the request of al-Maliki. / End
