Military officer killed, 2 soldiers wounded northern Wasit province

Kut (NINA) – An improvised explosive device went off on Thursday, July 12, near a military checkpoint northern Wasit province killing one officer, at the rank of captain, and wounding two soldiers.

Security source told NINA that an improvised explosive device went off in a car at a military checkpoint killing an officer and wounding two soldiers.

He added, "A military force imposed a security cordon around the site. / End.
