Hilla / Nina / Maj. Gen. Sabah al-Fatlawi the new police chief of Babylon who took office on Friday succeeding brigade Fadel Radad as director of Babil police said that security plans in the province which he has viewed them are not live up to the required level that allowed some of the violations that caused number of the bombings.
Fatlawi said in a press conference held today in the police headquarters of Babylon that the province contains a number of pockets and sleeper cells of al Qaeda which their places are now being found and known by the intelligence effort, promising people of the province that it will be quiet and free from violence in the coming days.
He added that the police command of Babylon got a promise from the local government and the ministry of Interior to rehabilitate the checkpoints, especially the entrances of the province with Baghdad, Karbala and Diwaniya because they are not live up to the required level and the police obtained a promise to get new sonar system to scan without disturbing the citizen.
He stressed that the press will have complete freedom to work in any area of the province and the police will be officially informed of this decision which will serve the journalist and preserve his dignity. / End
