BAGHDAD / Nina / Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari said that "Iraq with a constitutional state that safeguards the rights of all nationalities of the Syrian people without discrimination."
He said in a response to a question by / Nina / on the form of government that will be drawn in case of dropping the regime of Bashar al-Assad: " the Syrian problem released in more than one occasion and meeting and we focused on the need of the dialogue to resolve the crisis, unlike some who does not want the dialogue and aim only to bring the Syrian regime down."
He added: "Iraq put at the Arab summit in Baghdad and specifically by the Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, an initiative to resolve the crisis that was rejected by the Syrian government which included the call for dialogue and peaceful transition of power and transitional government and respect the Constitution."
He continued: "The meetings in Geneva did not determine the shape of the Syrian government, but has been proposed the form of the political process which was identical to the ideas of Iraq in calling for a democratic and free system does not exclude one and the need to have a representation of all religions and ethnic groups and minorities."
Zebari said: "Iraq confirmed a few days ago while attending the Conference of the Syrian opposition in Cairo, the need to consolidate the work of the opposition and remind them that their situation is the same situation that the Iraqi politicians when they were in opposition and they were able by their insistence to impose their voice to all the countries of the world."/End
