Arbil / Nina / the Representation of the Kurdistan Regional Government in London called the British government to recognize the genocide suffered by the Kurdish people officially.
Falah Mustafa the head of Foreign Relations in Kurdistan Regional Government said during the annual reception held by the Representation in the British House of Representatives "that the crime of genocide is not about the past only, and the international recognition of this crime that the Kurdish people suffered is important to help the families of the victims and to ensure non-recurrence of such crimes in the future."
Mustafa expressed his thanks and appreciation for the efforts of the parliamentary group of the British parties and all those who participated in this effort.
The representative of Kurdistan Regional Government in Britain Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman said "The Kurdish people are optimistic, we seek to promote economic and social infrastructure and revitalize the agricultural sector, despite the difficulties in reconstruction of rural life because of the destruction of nearly 4,500 villages by the former Iraqi regime."
She added: "We believe in friendship and international reconciliation and peaceful coexistence in Iraq, but we believe in justice as well, and to those who say we should neglect the past and look to the future, I tell them there is no specific time to achieve justice for the victims of genocide anywhere in the world."
From his side Nazim Zahawi the Member of British Parliament for Stratford and the chairman of a group of Kurdistan in the British Parliament said " the Genocide is the worst crime that can be curried out by human beings, and this crime had curried out against the Kurdish people so, it is our duty to remember these victims and honor them, indicating that the formal recognition by the British government in this genocide, is an essential and critical to ensure non-recurrence of such an offense again and that is why I have a campaign to collect electronic signatures and I invite my governments to officially recognize the genocide of the Kurdish people.
