A statement for the gathering today said that the Iranian efforts to deploy missile system on the territory of Iraq is a blatant violation of Iraqi sovereignty, as well as a violation of the International laws, customs and Protocols, urging the Iraqi government not to allow Iran to make the Iraqi land as a theater in its struggle with America and other countries. "
The statement added: "While we fully reject these efforts, we call on the Iranian regime to stay away from its hostility towards the countries of the region, and to satisfy its citizens and to reform the deteriorating situation in Iran instead of heading to intimidate other people," calling the Iraqi government to "reject any discussion with the Iranian side in this matter."
It is mentioned that news media talked about Iran's determination to deploy missiles inside Iraq in anticipation of any U.S. or Israeli attack on its nuclear facilities.
This media quoted Iraqi-informed military sources as saying: "Iran will send a military delegation to Iraq soon for the purpose of holding a security agreement including the issue of deployment of advanced missiles, an air defense system against long-range missiles possessed by America and Israel." / End
