BAGHDAD / Nina / a member of the parliamentary Committee of Culture and Media Batoul Farouk denied that the Iraqi Jewish Archive in the United States since 2003 has been transferred to Israel.
She said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / Nina /: "We do not have a very accurate information about whether the Israelis may have seen this archive or not, but the issue of export it to Israel does not exist".
She added: "There is an agreement between Iraq and the U.S. that the Archive remains in America for ten years, after this archive became on the verge of extinction due to poor storage after the recent American war against Iraq, and these ten years is not over yet."
The news reports indicated that the Iraqi Jewish Archive in the United States arrived in Israel, in addition to the disappearance of some archaeological pieces and books. / End
