BASRA / Nina / citizens in Faw saved an owner of Exchange money office when a gang tried to kidnap him near his house, and arrested one of the kidnapers before fleeing.
The head of Faw local council, "Abid Ali Fadhil," told / Nina / "Gunmen tried at a late hour of night to kidnap Shakir Mahmoud, the owner of the exchange money office but some citizens, including a policeman wearing civilian clothes stood up to the hijackers and managed to arrest one of them. "
He added, "that the hijackers were able to initially control the kidnapped near his home, but they left him and fled, except one of them could not catch up as number of citizens started shooting" noting that "the citizens handed him to the army which turn him to Faw police station ".
He explained that the police had arrested another element involved in the kidnapping in the early hours of this morning according to the confessions made by the first prison. "/ End
