Maliki to NINA; we had not received any response from Obama concerning Exxon Mobil.
28/06/2012 08:59:00

BAGHDAD / Nina / Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said he had not received any response from the U.S. President Barack Obama on the message sent, about the Exxon Mobil's oil company contracts with Kurdistan province.

He said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / Nina / at the meeting of the National Alliance, which was held yesterday at the President Ibrahim al-Jaafari's house that the project of withdrawal confidence is over.

He continued: "We want the parties that demanded such project to leave it and sit at the negotiating table."

Addressing those parties, Maliki said: "You want to solve the problems by this way, and we say they can not be resolved in this way and jump over the Constitution."

He added: "We are ready to go wherever the problems of the country can be solved," noting" that the issue of early elections wrongly understood.

He made it clear that he "did not call for an early election now, unless the problems are not resolved by dialogue, we will call to start an early election."

He continued: "We did not reject anything, nor accept anything, but we are working on everything that serves the Iraqi interests," adding" who rejects the national meeting is the one who hinders the solution of the crisis.

Maliki said: "All violations in executive and legislative branches will be discussed, because we raised the slogan of building the Iraqi state in the post-withdrawal of US Army and we remained silent to provoke some issues due to our security conditions, but today the presence of foreign troops had ended and the country regained its health."

And on his message sent to U.S. President Barack Obama about Exxon Mobil, Al-Maliki said "I have not received any clear answer so far, and we are waiting the reply of the American side."

He believed that "Exxon Mobil deepened the gap in the dispute between the political blocs, because some blocs held unconstitutional agreement with Exxon Mobil, and this is one of the things that we say must be discussed according to the Constitution." / End
