4 Gunmen arrested in Wasit

Kut (NINA) – Police arrested 4 gunmen in Wasit province.

Commander of Wasit Police, General Hussein Abdul Hadi Mohammed, told NINA on Sunday, June 24, that police and intelligence forces carried out a security operation north of Suwaira district arresting 4 gunmen accused of carrying terrorist activities and being charged in accordance with Article 4-Terrorism.

He added that the arrests carried out based on intelligence information on the gunmen's where about.

"On questioning, the gunmen admitted of being members of Qaeda organization and have carried out armed activities against security forces. / End.
