Baghdad / NINA /-- Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari said any bypass of Iraq’s role in resolving the Syrian crisis will not work.
He said during a joint press conference held in Baghdad today with his hoste the Polish , Bulgarian and Swedish counterparts : “ the current visit of the three ministers express European support to the agreement that was recently signed between Iraq and the European Union in Brussels regarding long-term economic, commercial and political partnership .
He continued: "The visit by the three ministers bring to us two messages the first is regarding achieve our long-term partnership in the fields of trade, economic and political, while the second regarding the deteriorating conditions in Syria ."
Zebari ended by stressing that Iraq seeks a peaceful democratic change in Syria, pointing out that solving the Syrian crisis is important to Iraq as a neighbor country has common interests , hence any international agreement or regional solution to this crisis cannot override Iraq’s role ." / End
