Baghdad (NINA) – President of Kurdistan region, Massoud Barazani, said that efforts continue to change Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, through constitutional means.
The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) web site quoted Barazani on Monday, June 11, saying on Facebook that, "The region's Presidency has a message from the President and over 170 lawmakers' signature demanding withdrawing confidence."
Barazani affirmed his full support to Iraqi forces that seek to put an end to dictatorship, stressing the when the problems facing Iraq's democracy are worked out then the region's problems will be solved too.
Barazani added, "If the problem of democracy is not solved, then we will be forced to resort to other choices."
He stressed that the region's Presidency will not compromise the rights and future of Kurdish people. / End.
