BAGHDAD / NINA / Ministry of Transport announced its intention to link Iraq with, Turkey through Ibrahim Khalil border Gate north of the Iraq.
The press General Director of the Establishment of Railways Jawad Khersan told the National Iraqi News Agency / NIN / "The railway link with Turkey is currently within the line passing through Syrian," noting that "there is an agreement with the Turkish side to form the a joint Railway Company between the two countries to link them by a rail network directly ."
He added that "The railway link with neighboring countries, especially Arab ones moving on a regular basis especially from the Iraqi side, but with Syria, for example, we have line up to the border city of Qaim but the remain problematic issue inside Syrian territory."tr
Khersan noted "The line with Iran is through Mundhiriyah in order to get the visitors in Iraq and vice versa and this is being discussed because the long of the line which is up 300 km inside Iraq," noting that "the focus now is on the line project of Shalamjah." / End
