Baghdad (NINA) – Chairman of the Sadrit Trend Political Bureau, Karar al-Khafaji, discussed on Wednesday, May 30, with the French Ambassador to Iraq, Denys Gauer, the ongoing developments in Iraq and the area.
A statement issued by the Sadrit Trend Political Bureau quoted Khafaji saying during the meeting, "The initiative by the Trend's Leader, Muqtada al-Sadr, came to make reforms not to bring down the government or to make political gains; rather all efforts are for the benefit of the people."
He asserted, "Reforms are our goal, bringing down the government is our last resort, the tenure of the prime minister must be limited to two."
Khafaji went on saying, "Earlier, the Trend's Political Bureau worked toward bringing adversaries' points of views closer together." He affirmed that, "At present federalism does not serve Iraq."
Khafaji expressed, "Sadrist Trend to support French firms work and invest in Iraq." / End.
