Baghdad (NINA) – Head of Basra Investment Body, Khalaf al-Badran, urged British firms to take the investment opportunities and invest in the province.
A statement issued by the Body said that during his participation, along with the Governor of Basra, in the IBBC conference in London, Badran said that the Iraqi government, through the Investment Law, seeks to establish suitable investment environment attracts British firms to participate in the reconstruction of Basra.
He affirmed the government of Basra and its Investment Body are working to overcome obstacles facing working firms and provide them with needed facilities to carry out their works in Basra, being suitable environment for various projects.
For his part, the Governor of Basra called in his speech before the conference invited British firms to come to Basra and participate in reconstructing its infra structure, as well a its projects.
During its stay in London, the Basra's delegation met with British Minister of Education and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and the Commonwealth, as well as with former Mayor of London, in addition to representatives of British investment and firms. / End.
