Talabani congratulates Nikolic on assumption of Serbia Presidency

Baghdad (NINA) - President Jalal Talabani congratulated Tomislav Nikolic on assumption of Presidency of the Republic of Serbia.

Talabani said, according to a statement issued by the Presidency office today: "I am pleased to express to you, my and on behalf of the Iraqi people, congratulations on the occasion of your selection as President of the Republic of Serbia, which we have amity and close relations and cooperation that we seek to consolidate and develop."

Tomislav Nikolic won the presidential elections and became President of Serbia, after defeating the current liberal President, Boris Tadic. /End/
