Saad: Minister of Electricity promised implementation of power projects in Basra on time

Baghdad (NINA) – Member of the Parliamentary Oil and Energy Committee from Basra Province, Suzan Al Saad said Minister of Electricity Kareem Aftan Al Jumaily promised during his visit to the province concluded today to implement the power projects in Basra on time.

She added in a statement to NINA that the projects that were visited was the Northern Rumaila Gas Plant to get to know the hurdles facing finishing it which is designed to produce 1400 MW. So far 19% was finished of the project. Two units are supposed start operating on May next year.

She went on saying “we asked the minister during the meeting on last Thursday evening in Basra to supply the province regularly with power.” /End/
