Baghdad (NINA) – Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zebari, discussed with China's Deputy Foreign Minister, Ma Gaw Sho, issues that will make the 5+1 meetings successful and the importance to come out with positive results that help in consolidate security and stability of the region.
In a statement to the press, Foreign Ministry's Media Bureau said, "On the side of the 5+1 meetings on Iran's nuclear issue, being held in Baghdad, Zebari met with China's Deputy Foreign Minister reviewing the contacts and meetings conducted by Iraq with all concerned sides toward preparing suitable climate, logistic measures aimed to push the negotiations forward."
Both sides stressed necessity to make the 5+1 meetings successful, because both of them have interests in that, beside the region's countries have interests in that too.
The two also touched on the relations between Iraq and China and the need to activate the Joint Iraqi-Chinese Committee; they expressed satisfaction with the level of good and developing relations between them.
The Security Council's five-member state and Germany in addition to the European Union's High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Catherine Ashton, as well as Iran's delegation, headed by the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Saeed Jalili, are taking part in the negotiations. / End.
