Baghdad (NINA) – Kurdistan region's Minister of Natural Resources, Ashti Horami, said that Kurdistan region will be able to directly export oil on August of nest year.
The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) web site quoted Horami saying on Sunday, May 20, during the First Energy Conference, held in Erbil, saying that in August 2013 Kurdistan will be able to directly export oil from its fields, yet the oil will stay Iraqi.
He added, "Once export begins it will take out 17% of the income, which is our share from the budget of Iraq, the rest will be turned to the central government."
Horami pointed out that by 2014 the government of Kurdistan region will work toward developing an independent oil pipeline to Turkish refineries and depots. / End.
