Baghdad (NINA) – Preparation for an Iraqi-Japanese Security Workshop is underway at the Cabinet's Secretariat.
A statement issued on Monday, May 14, by the Cabinet's Secretariat said that the Cabinet's Deputy Secretary General, Rahman Issa, chaired a meeting consisted of the Director General of Follow up and Government Coordination, Riyadh Fadhil, and representatives of security agencies to prepare for the workshop.
The statement quoted a source at the Department of Follow up saying that the workshop will discuss managing security and upgrade its mechanism, as well as benefiting from Japan's know how in developing the performance of Iraq's specialized ministries, in light of implementing the clauses of the Joint Iraq-Japan Statement.
The convened recommended instructing concerned participants to present recommendations to be used by technical departments. The National Security Advisory is charged to hold and follow up the workshop's meetings. / End.
