Baghdad (NINA) – Leader of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council (SIIC), Ammar al-Hakeem affirmed, "Iraq today is open o the world's countries, mainly the region's."
A statement issued on Monday, May 7, by Hakeem's Office quoted him during his meeting with theChairman of Iran's Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, and the delegation accompanying him, saying, "The openness is part of common interests between Iraq and other countries."
For his part, Boroujerdi affirmed, "Iraq has achieved many successes, including chairing the Arab Summit and holding the 5+1 meeting concerning Iran's nuclear issue."
Boroujerdi acquainted Hakeem with his talks in Baghdad in his meetings with Iraqi leaders, such as the Prime Minister, Speaker of Parliament and Foreign Minister. / End.
